Royal Celebration for St Luke’s CE Primary Headteacher
Sonia Clews, Headteacher of St Luke’s CE Primary School, recently enjoyed a very special day at Buckingham Palace after being invited to attend a garden party in recognition of her outstanding work in education.
Hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla on Wednesday 14th May, the Education and Skills Garden Party celebrated individuals from across the education sector. The event was also attended by Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson and featured a performance from The Royal Ballet School.
Sonia joined approximately 7,000 other guests from the world of education and skills, marking a truly memorable occasion that highlights her dedication and impact.
Sonia said of the day: “This was an incredibly special event and I am so honoured to have been part of it. My own experiences of education as a child have inspired and motivated me over the years as a teacher and school leader to make every child in a school feel safe, welcome and able to thrive on their own terms.”
This royal recognition comes at the end of a remarkable year for St Luke’s CE Primary School. The school recently won the Environmental and Sustainability Award at the Northamptonshire Education Awards and was praised by Ofsted as a ‘caring, nurturing and happy school’ that ‘welcomes everyone’, with a judgement of ‘Good’ across all categories.
Sonia has always gone above and beyond to create an inclusive, supportive school where every child is encouraged to aim high. Congratulations on this well-deserved honour.
