Collingtree Primary School Scored a Visit from the Premier League Trophy
Pupils at Collingtree CofE Primary School experienced a once in a lifetime moment when the world famous Premier League Trophy arrived on school grounds.
Collingtree was selected as a national winner through the Premier League Primary Stars ‘Refer a Colleague’ scheme, which encourages schools to share the programme with others for a chance to win exciting prizes, and this time, Collingtree struck gold.
As part of the celebration, staff from Northampton Town FC Community Trust delivered PE workshops for all year groups, supporting the Premier League’s mission to inspire children through football to stay active, build life skills and enjoy learning.
The day also featured a whole-school assembly focused on the Premier League Primary Stars values: Be Ambitious, Be Inspiring, Be Connected and Be Fair. Pupils reflected on how these values could influence their attitudes, behaviour and goals, both on and off the pitch.
The highlight of the day was the arrival of the Premier League trophy itself. Every class had the opportunity to see up close, pose for team photos and take part in a Q&A session with the visiting Premier League team, offering a glimpse into the world of football.
Executive Headteacher, Rebecca Osborne said: “We were absolutely thrilled to welcome the Premier League trophy to our school. It’s not every day pupils get this kind of opportunity. We are passionate about promoting healthy, active lifestyles and this visit was truly inspiring for our children.”
Premier League Charitable Fund Chief Executive, Alex White said: “Seeing the joy and enthusiasm sparked by a trophy visit is a great reminder of the power of football as a force for good. Events such as this celebrate and recognise the hard work and dedication of pupils and teachers across the country.”
Collingtree Primary School offers a broad range of extracurricular clubs and wraparound care, providing inclusive opportunities for all pupils, reflecting the school’s commitment to keeping children active throughout the day.
The visit supported the school’s physical education strategy by delivering an enriching and inspiring experience that celebrated sport, aspiration and community, leaving a lasting impact on every pupil involved.
