The History of PDET

Peterborough Diocese Board of Education (DBE) has a long and successful record of supporting 103 church schools, 88% of which are graded good or better by Ofsted.

Given a rapidly changing educational landscape and its mission of service to the community, the DBE took the decision in 2013 to create a multi-academy trust.

Diocesan Synod demonstrated the support of the whole diocese for the venture by providing funds to support the launch of the multi-academy trust which is known as Peterborough Diocese Education Trust (PDET).

PDET is also a recognised academy sponsor.

We welcomed our first school into PDET on 1 May 2014.

Two months later, we marked the launch of PDET with our first four schools through a celebration at the cathedral.

Our growth continues and will be locally based; we seek to serve the communities that lie within the geographical area of Peterborough Diocese.
