Guilsborough CE Primary School makes us 25
Guilsborough CE Primary School joined Peterborough Diocese Education Trust today as the trust grows to be the home of 25 academies and 4,200 children.
Guilsborough CE Primary School is rated as a Good school by Ofsted and chose to join PDET in 2017. The application was approved by the Regional Schools Commissioner and the process of consultation with parents, staff and stakeholders was completed.
Simon Caldwell, Guilsborough CE Primary School’s Chair of Governors said, “I am delighted that Guilsborough Church of England Primary School opened as an academy as part of PDET on Thursday March 1st. We are looking forward to joining the other 24 schools in PDET and the benefits that academy status will bring. When making the decision to become an academy, it was important that the ethos and values of our school should be maintained and therefore joining PDET was a natural fit. As we proceed along the exciting journey ahead, I am invigorated to know that the teaching, learning and general experience of our pupils will be enhanced by being part of the Trust.”
Dr John Herrick, the Chair of PDET’s Board of Directors said, “We are very pleased that Guilsborough CE Primary School has joined us. We have completed our processes of due diligence and are looking forward to working with Simon and the academy’s governing body. We will work with the committed staff, led by the academy’s Headteacher, Mrs Shilliam to continue to develop the quality of education provided to every child in the new academy.”
Peterborough Diocese Education Trust is an academy trust for Church of England schools in the Diocese of Peterborough. Schools benefit from joining a family of schools that share the same values and ethos. The Trust has a strong school effectiveness team supporting the academies. This has been acknowledged in Ofsted reports.
